Santa Fe’s Earth Care International’s Youth Allies teams up with Youth Media Project to produce a compelling and emotional show about consumerism, sweat shops, DIY culture, and Black Friday. Hosts Sienna Sanchez (a Youth Allies and Youth Media Project member) and Conor Cole (Youth Media Project) take us on the journey which includes segments from Youth Allies members about Black Friday at Santa Fe’s local Walmart; consumption and waste at a local high school; a riveting testimonial by a Vietnamese woman imprisoned in a sweat shop (read by Youth Allies member Magaly Campos); DIY culture, and Taoism’s remedy for consumer culture. Contributors include Youth Allies members Magaly Campos, Marcos Campos, Sergio Gonzales, Amanda Martinez, and Camille Chambers. Youth Media Project contributors include Taylor Ramzel and host Conor Cole.
